ADEME lists 19 approved EPR schemes as of 28 September 2026, up from 12 in 2020. The French Environmental Code lists 21 categories of products in Article L. 541-10-1, but chewing gum and fishing gear containing plastic do not yet have an approved PRO. On 1 January 2027, the professional packaging scheme extends to all non-household packaging, without creating a new scheme.
