The EPR fee is calculated by multiplying the quantities placed on the market, in units or tonnes depending on the scheme, by the rate in the PRO's fee schedule, then applying the bonuses and penalties of EPR fee modulation. Under Citeo's 2026 fee schedule, a 44 g polyethylene shampoo bottle, cap included, costs around 3.6 cents, or twice as much if the plastic is black and cannot be detected by optical sorting. Below 10,000 units sold a year, Citeo offers a flat fee of €110 excl. VAT.
