Which decree sets the French textile environmental cost rules (environmental labelling)?

421 questions from 58 articles available in English.

The rules are set by Decree No. 2025-957 of 6 September 2025 on the methods for calculating and communicating the environmental cost of textile products, adopted under France's Climate and Resilience Act of 2021. A ministerial order of the same date sets the calculation method and the signage. The scheme entered into force on 1 October 2025: display remains voluntary, but a brand that communicates an environmental score must also communicate the environmental cost. Since 1 October 2026, a third party can calculate and publish the environmental cost of a product without the brand's consent.
