Full definition
ISO 14044:2006 defines the requirements for a Life Cycle Assessment: goal and scope definition, inventory analysis (LCI), impact assessment (LCIA), interpretation of results and critical review. Twin standard to ISO 14040 (which establishes principles). Every public or comparative LCA must comply with ISO 14044, including an independent critical review for B2B comparisons. Do not confuse it with ISO 14067 (product carbon footprint, single CO2e criterion) or with ISO 14064-1 (organisation GHG inventory).
