Regulation (EU) 2025/40 excludes packaging for medicines and medical devices, packaging for infant food, packaging for transporting dangerous goods and compostable plastic packaging. A plastic part representing less than 5% of the packaging's total mass is also outside the thresholds. These exclusions do not exempt it from the text's other requirements, particularly packaging recyclability required from 1 January 2030.
