Some forecasts say it will, but the measurements we read have not shown an overall fall in employment. In the United States, total employment in the sample tracked by Stanford rose by about 6% between November 2022 and June 2026. A gap appeared among 22-25 year olds: for every 100 jobs held in November 2022, the most exposed occupations had about 89 and the others 110, with no cause established. Among the forecasts, the World Economic Forum projects 11 million jobs created and 9 million eliminated by 2030 for AI and information processing. According to the news site Axios, Dario Amodei, chief executive of the AI company Anthropic, raised in May 2025 the possibility that half of entry-level white-collar jobs in the United States could disappear within 1 to 5 years.
