The ‘organisation’ counterpart of European PEF: a standardised LCA of an organisation across multiple criteria.

Updated

Full definition

The organisation counterpart of European PEF: a standardised LCA across multiple criteria at the scale of an entire organisation, defined by Recommendation (EU) 2021/2279 and methodologically led by JRC. Sixteen impact categories (climate, water, resources, toxicity...), sector-specific rules (OEFSR) and an emphasis on comparability. Adoption slower than product PEF: in practice, organisation reporting converges towards ESRS E1 for climate, while OEF remains voluntary, mainly used by organisations seeking a complete environmental footprint beyond carbon.
