It depends on your building type. Since 2022-2023: new housing, offices and educational buildings. Since 1 May 2026 (Decree No. 2026-16): hotels, shops, restaurants, nurseries, healthcare, sports facilities, media libraries, universities, airport terminals, and industrial and craft buildings. Outside RE2020 remain: data centres and specific process buildings, overseas projects, temporary constructions, constructions and extensions under 50 m², and certain extensions under 150 m² representing less than 30% of the existing floor area. Outside RE2020, voluntary EN 15978 LCA remains the reference framework.
