Yes, Bilan Carbone® is a registered trademark owned by the Association pour la transition Bas Carbone (ABC). ADEME created the method in 2004, then transferred it in 2011 to the association, which maintains it and published V9 in July 2024. A provider advertising a Bilan Carbone® in the strict sense applies this method with consultants trained and certified in it. The statutory BEGES can, however, be carried out using other compatible methods, such as ISO 14064-1 or the GHG Protocol.
