What is the difference between an energy audit and Bilan Carbone®?

1111 questions from 157 articles available in English.

An energy audit measures energy consumption (gas, electricity, fuels) in a building, site or fleet and proposes actions ranked by profitability, according to NF EN 16247. Bilan Carbone® measures the entire organisation's greenhouse gas emissions across scopes 1, 2 and 3, in tCO2e, and produces an action plan and decarbonisation pathway. The audit therefore covers all energy but only the share of emissions arising from it, often 10 to 15% in a service company and more in industry; the footprint assessment covers all emissions, with energy as just one source. Neither of the 2 replaces the other.
