The statutory energy audit uses the NF EN 16247 series of standards: Part 1 for general requirements, 2 for buildings, 3 for processes and 4 for transport, with Part 5 covering auditors' competence. Since the Order of 10 July 2025, this text sets the methodology and auditor recognition, and providers are certified by COFRAC-recognised bodies (LNE, AFNOR Certification, OPQIBI). The minimum scope covered by the audit is set by Article D. 233-3 of the Energy Code. The audit is renewed every 4 years.
