The main one is your teams’ time: the CFO, purchasing, HR and logistics teams supply the data, representing 3 to 5 days of internal work spread across the assignment. If management accounting is insufficiently detailed, for example a purchasing account without a breakdown, the allocation must be reconstructed source by source, often the most time-consuming phase. A quote without a presentation to the executive committee or a prioritised action plan is also incomplete: the assessment remains a figure that is hard to use, and you will have to pay for additional work to turn it into a reduction strategy.
