What are PEFCRs for?

1111 questions from 157 articles available in English.

PEFCRs (Product Environmental Footprint Category Rules) are the rules specific to each product category within the PEF framework. Without an approved PEFCR, an official PEF score cannot be calculated. Each PEFCR defines the functional unit, system boundaries, permitted databases and priority indicators for the category. Six PEFCRs are active in 2026, including textiles/footwear (v3.1), not to be confused with the French environmental labelling method.
