Is the EU battery carbon footprint threshold already in force?

1111 questions from 157 articles available in English.

No, not for rechargeable industrial batteries above 2 kWh, for which Regulation 2023/1542 provides for a gradual rollout: digital passport (DPP) required in February 2027, a third-party-verified carbon footprint declaration 18 months after the methodological delegated act, during 2028 at the earliest, then carbon performance classes (A, B, C). The maximum carbon footprint threshold arrives in February 2030 at the earliest: batteries exceeding it will be banned from the market. This timetable has already changed and depends on delegated acts, hence the value of starting data collection now.
