Is a collective FDES worth as much as an individual FDES?

1111 questions from 157 articles available in English.

Legally, yes: both are accepted for a RE2020 calculation. Technically, no. A collective FDES covers a generic type (a concrete category, an insulation family) and includes a conservative safety margin that worsens the score compared with an individual declaration. For a manufacturer whose product performs better than its category average, publishing an individual FDES, or a "configurable" collective FDES parameterised with its own data, is a worthwhile investment. From the 2025-2027 period, regulatory adjustment relating to DED will gradually become stricter, further strengthening the case for specific declarations.
