Clothing textiles are the first regulated sector: since 1 October 2025, labelling is voluntary but rules are set, and from 1 October 2026 third parties can publish a product’s score without the brand’s consent. Furniture awaits an initial proposed method in late 2026. Food has had a public method for voluntary use since May 2026, and cosmetics has no public method. Buildings have their own framework through RE2020, and ESPR will extend the logic to manufactured goods sold in the EU, category by category.
