Precise, Honest, Substantiated

Celsius method for testing an environmental claim before publication against three criteria: Precise, Honest, Substantiated.

Full definition

PIF is the framework developed by Projet Celsius to check whether an environmental claim stands up before publication. Precise: the message states exactly what the benefit concerns and its scope. Honest: it does not inflate a partial aspect into an overall promise or conceal a trade-off. Substantiated: it relies on legally defensible evidence available at the time of publication. The three criteria overlap with the requirements of the EmpCo Directive, the Consumer Code and DGCCRF checks.
